Insurance Breakfast Club, 2nd May 2024

What amazing talent in the insurance industry!

I had the privilege of being an expert at the Insurance Breakfast Club training event yesterday where the delegates showcased their public speaking skills – which were superb. Speaking in front of a large audience can be a nerve racking experience, but with the right training, encouragement and support, it can be mastered – as so clearly demonstrated yesterday.

They “owned” the stage, were genuinely authentic and real, very informative and really engaging with the audience. If there are any insurance conference organisers reading this – what a great selection of confident female panelists to choose from….I know I am going to be inviting them to speak at my Camelot events 🙂

Massive well done to everyone on the IBC course and to the amazing team that pulled it all together on the day and of course to the brains and passion behind it all, Katherine Bryant.

Everyone – take a well earned bow and a nice long weekend !

Whitworth Society 8th March 2024

Privileged to be be the Master of Ceremonies this evening at the House of Lords – celebrating all the ~3200 engineers that have benefitted from Sir Joseph Whitworth’s great legacy.

This is the day that 70 Whitworth Scholars will convene in the capital for our dinner at the House of Lords this evening, co-hosted by Whitworth Society president Kevin U. and vice president Rachael Hoyle. hashtag#WhSch

The dinner will commemorate visionary engineer Sir Joseph Whitworth, who wrote to then prime minister Benjamin Disraeli on 18th March 1868 which, along with his generous bursary, founded the hashtag#WhitworthScholarships that have supported the development of around 3200 engineers since then.

The Whitworth Scholarship awards

Some good news in these challenging times.

Many moons ago, I was fortunate enough to receive a scholarship bursary to study engineering at university – an amazing spring board to my future career.

The Whitworth Scholarship awards are open until the end of June for Apprentice Engineers embarking on their university studies. If you know someone who would benefit from financial help to attend university, then pass them this link https://lnkd.in/dRpVkTi

Merlin Digital Consulting Ltd are very pleased to support Sian.

Sadly in April this year Sian lost a close friend Pat to cancer. Pat was very fortunate to spend her last days receiving specialist care in the Severn Hospice, an independent charity who support families when a cure is no longer possible.

As a result Sian has signed up to run the London Marathon in 2020 and will be fundraising for them in her friend’s name.

Good Luck with your training Sian!

Captain America has his shield, Thor has his hammer and the Insurance industry has… technology?

We no longer have Iron Man to help us out (#Spoiler), however, I believe that the insurance industry can learn a lot from him.
